Reverend Jaime Cisterna, 55, has been a pastor since being ordained into ministry by the Brazilian Baptist Convention in 1993. That same year, he married his wife, Luisa, with whom he has three children: Tiago, Débora (married to Joshua) and Lucas. Passionate about teaching the Word of God, Jaime wrote his dissertation on the subject, believing that through it alone, the great plan of salvation is revealed. Indeed, for it is by God’s Word that His transforming power is made available to us.
One of the most fulfilling moments of Jaime’s ministry was the construction of a school in the West African country of Guinea Bissau. Over a period of two years, the church invested time, prayer and other resources to make this a reality. Now, the school hosts over 500 children from grades 1 through 12.
Pastor Jaime came to leadership at First Free in 2015, at which time he had already been the pastor of a Brazilian church in Calgary since 2007. Having been invited to become the senior pastor at First Free, the two churches eventually merged, uniting both congregations.

Reverend Clinton Cesar, 48, has been a pastor since being ordained into ministry by the Presbyterian Church of Brazil in 2000. He has been married to Juliana for 23 years and they have three beautiful daughters (Gabriela, Rebeca, and Melissa). They came to Canada in December 2016. One of his passions is church planting—before coming to Canada, he planted and pastored a Presbyterian church in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, for 10 years.
Pastor Clinton started at First Free in 2018. Initially, he worked with the Brazilian community, but today he also works leading the Connecting Groups, Communication, and Discipleship.

Mauricio Rosa is an ordained pastor and serves as a pastor at First Evangelical Free Church. He is from Brazil and came to Canada in 2001 to pursue his graduate studies in architecture. Mauricio has been working with Pastor Jaime since the very beginning of planting the first Brazilian church in Western Canada in 2007. His passions are teaching and discipleship. He has been serving as an elder and providing leadership, preaching, and teaching. He is married to Christin and together they have three young children (Thomas, and twins Nathaniel and Emma).
Mauricio has been at First Free since 2016. He helps oversee the Discipleship Path and Leadership Development in the church.
